DEPUTY Prime Minister Ad­miral Tin Aung San, who is a member of the State Admin­istration Council and also the Union Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communica­tions, welcomed a delegation led by Mr Wei Gang, the Gov­ernor of the People’s Govern­ment of Dehong Autonomous Prefecture of the People’s Re­public of China, at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, they discussed the operation of four weekly flights between Mangshi and Mandalay by Rui­li Airline. Myanmar Nation­al Airlines will operate three weekly flights between Yangon, Mandalay, and Mangshi, while also expanding passenger and cargo flights to other poten­tial cities. Additionally, they discussed the connectivity en­hancement between China’s high-speed rail network and Myanmar’s rail network, which is expected to be completed by 2027, connecting with Ruili and boosting bilateral trade. Furthermore, both parties will sign a memorandum of understanding to facilitate cross-border shipments and address transit issues for Chi­nese products passing through Yangon Port.
