DEPUTY Prime Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, who is a member of the State Administration Council and also the Union Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, welcomed a delegation led by Mr Wei Gang, the Governor of the People’s Government of Dehong Autonomous Prefecture of the People’s Republic of China, at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they discussed the operation of four weekly flights between Mangshi and Mandalay by Ruili Airline. Myanmar National Airlines will operate three weekly flights between Yangon, Mandalay, and Mangshi, while also expanding passenger and cargo flights to other potential cities. Additionally, they discussed the connectivity enhancement between China’s high-speed rail network and Myanmar’s rail network, which is expected to be completed by 2027, connecting with Ruili and boosting bilateral trade. Furthermore, both parties will sign a memorandum of understanding to facilitate cross-border shipments and address transit issues for Chinese products passing through Yangon Port.
