DURING an award ceremony held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday to recognize outstanding students who passed the matriculation exam in the 2022-2023 academic year, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut highlighted the importance of education in developing human resources. The event, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, specifically honoured students who are family members of officials from the Union Minister's Office. The ceremony was attended by government officials, including Lt-Gen Soe Htut, member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Home Affairs, as well as students and parents.

In his address, the Union minister emphasized that students will play crucial roles in shaping the future of the nation. Recognizing education as the foundation for nation-building, he stressed the need for experts to build a country for sustainable development. Highlighting the significance of human resources in this process, he underscored the necessity of prioritizing education to foster their development.

Following the remarks, the Union minister and officials presented cash awards to the outstanding students who excelled in the matriculation exams.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the honoured students, Ma Theint Hnin San from the Myanmar Police Force family conveyed her appreciation. During the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 383 students from Ministry of Home Affairs families achieved outstanding marks in the matriculation exams, while 687 students attained ordinary marks.

The ministry is also providing stipends to students pursuing university degrees.
