UNION Minister for Ministry of Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, currently in China, attended the China-ASEAN International Forum on Innovation and Cooperation for Sustainable Development held yesterday morning at the Grand Bravo Hotel in Guilin City.
At the forum, the ViceChair of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People’s Congress, the deputy resident representative of UNDP China, Science and Technology ministers from Cambodia and Malaysia, and Myanmar, as well as representatives from Viet Nam and China, delivered speeches.
Afterwards, the experts discussed various aspects of sustainable development. Following the discussion, the Union minister attended a luncheon hosted by Mayor Lee Chou of Guilin for Science and Technology ministers and representatives from ASEAN countries.
In the afternoon, the Union minister met students studying at universities in Guilin. He interacted with students and assisted with their needs.
The Union minister travelled by boat along the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo. The purpose was to observe and learn about China’s environmental sustainability efforts and the preparations being made in Guilin, which is a globally recognized tourist city.
