CHAIRMAN of Rakhine State Disaster Management Committee Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, deputy ministers, state ministers, and officials attended the ceremonies providing paddy and vegetable seeds for farmers affected by Cyclone Mocha from Sittway and Ponnagyun townships yesterday morning.
The chief minister and party handed over the paddy and vegetable seeds to farmers and villagers at the monastery of Ywathitkay Village in Sittway Township and at the meeting hall of the Agriculture Department in Ponnagyun Township, and individual farmers expressed their thanks. At the ceremonies, the chief minister highlighted the importance of proper cultivation methods and called on farmers and relevant departmental personnel to make joint efforts for great yield since necessary techniques will be provided by the Agriculture Department.
Afterwards, the chief minister and officials oversaw the vaccination activity for COVID-19 for students aged over five at the Basic Education High School in Ahlelsu Ward, the renovation work of the U Riz Mingala Suspension Bridge, and the soft crab farming business of Advanced Seafood Industries Co Ltd in Ponnagyun Township. Then, the chief minister and party observed each activity, gave suggestions and necessary instructions.
In the afternoon, the chief minister and officials attended a natural disaster recovery work coordination meeting at the Rakhine State government office. At the meeting, the necessary coordination was done on the reports regarding economic development conditions, follow-up measures, and implementation by respective work committees of the decisions of the meetings on rehabilitation activities.
