A total of 106 Myanmar citizens – 36 in the Republic of Korea, 28 in the United States of America, five in France, five in Egypt, three in Indonesia, three in Japan, three in Norway, two in Belgium, one in Italy and 17 seamen – arrived back home by a relief flight No 8M 802 of Myanmar Airways International from Incheon International Airport landed at the Yangon International Airport yesterday night after they were stranded in foreign countries due to suspension of international flights.

On arrival at the airport, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government helped for their 21-day quarantine period at the designated places and the respective hotels in line with the guidelines of immigration and healthcare processes.

In accordance with the directives of National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Myanmar embassies abroad and other relevant ministries in Myanmar, has been organizing 16 relief/special flights via Incheon International Airport of ROK and a total of 9,442 persons arrived back home under this programme.
