UNION Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and Un­ion Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw received a delegation led by Deputy Director-General of Russian State Atomic Energy Cooperation “Rosatom” Mr Nikolay Spassky at the Yangon Technological University in Yangon yesterday.

During the meeting, the Rosatom handed over the fea­sibility study report for thermal power plant project, under MoU between MoEP and Rosatom inked in November 2022, to Min­istry of Electric Power.

Then, the MoST signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing in the field of nuclear in­frastructure assessment and enhancement with Rosatom.

During the meeting with officials of Rosatom, MoEP Un­ion Minister expressed gradu­ates for completion of feasibility study report on thermal power plant in time and belief to ac­complish the work plans stated in Road Map.

He also talked about the MoUs for wind power projects made on 15 June during Inter­national Economic Forum in St. Petersburg and also said words of thanks for technical supports in generating power using hy­dropower and other sources.

Then, Deputy Direc­tor-General of Rosatom talked about the bilateral cooperation, future investment in thermal power plant projects and other projects and cooperation in con­ducting feasibility study on wind power projects under MoU.

The delegation led by Rosatom attended the dinner hosted by MoEP in the evening.
