U Thaung Han, Union Minister for Electric Power, attended the second day of the International Economic Forum 2023 (SPIEF’23) on 15 June held in St Petersburg, Russia, along with U Lwin Oo, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

In the morning, Union Minister U Thaung Han and Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Lwin Oo conducted feasibility studies of wind power projects of the Minhla (116 MW) and Mindon (56 MW) in Magway Region and Popa (200 MW) wind power projects in Kyaukpataung Township and NyaungU Township in Mandalay Region through MoU between Nova Wind JSC and Primus Advanced Technologies Ltd and also attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Electric Power of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar including Zeya & Associates Co Ltd and Nova Wind JSC.

Then, the Union minister met Mr Alexey Likhachev, Director-General of Rosatom, and discussed more cooperation in the electricity production sector.

Next, the Union minister met the CEO of Roscongress, Alexander Shatirov, and discussed cooperation in the field of solar power generation.
