A Malaysian Airlines plane carrying over 19 tonnes of emergency supplies worth over US$72,000 arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday morning.

The relief items were sent from ASEAN countries to as­sist those affected by Cy­clone Mocha.

An official from the AHA Centre, Director U Than Soe of the Natural Dis­aster Management Centre of Yangon Region and offi­cials checked the supplies, which will be handed over to the people in the Mocha-af­fected areas.

Included in the relief supplies that arrived yes­terday were 450 shelter tool kits, 450 packs of the shelter tool kit, 20 cartons of family tents, one carton of the water filtration system, two cartons of water filtra­tion system (pump) and 262 tarpaulin sheets.
