AS a gesture of hailing Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the Vocational Education and Training Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology opened Government Technological Colleges in Dagon Myothit (South), Kyaukpyu and Mandalay simultaneously at 9 am on 28 December.

Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the directors-general and deputy directors-general, rectors of technological universities and computer science universities, principals and officials of government technological colleges, officials from the Myanmar AGTI Society, lecturers and students attended the opening ceremony of the Government Technological College in Dagon Myothit (South) .

Similarly, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, district and township-level officials, college principals, lecturers and students were present at the opening ceremony the Government Technological College (Kyaukpyu).

The Union minister and officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology inspected practical rooms, classrooms, libraries and computer rooms, civil engineering, electrical power engineering and mechanical engineering workshops of the college.
