THE Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, by arranging continuous importation through trading posts, international airports and seaports with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

On 3 November, anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products, including masks and oxygen generators, were imported by one company using one vehicle.

A total of 200 empty oxygen cylinders, one oxygen generator for clinical use, 30 oxygen con[1]centrators for home use and nine tonnes of gloves were imported via the Myawady trading post and Yangon International Sea[1]ports. Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including online registration for the import process.

 It is reported that the Minis[1]try of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, treat[1]ment of COVID-19, as well as con[1]tact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website www.commerce.gov. mm.
