TWO men have been arrested for firing a grenade at the COVID-19 disease prevention, control and treatment team near Shwekyin checkpoint in Patheingyi Township.

 

The COVID-19 disease prevention team took their duties near Shwekyin checkpoint on the Mandalay-Madaya Road, Patheingyi Township, on the morning of 25 September.

 

A man on a motorcycle fired a hand grenade, which exploded in a sandbag bunker north of the checkpoint.

 

The bomber named Lwin Htoo, a 47-yearold man, who lives in Oo Yin Quarter, Aungmyaythazan Township was arrested by security forces and bystanders.

 

Next, a son of the bomber, Kyaw Zin Min, a 17-year-old teen, was also arrested, according to his statement.

 

Three young women from Nanthar Myaing village, Madaya Township, received blisters during an explosion of the manmade bomb.

 

Those arrested will face effective legal actions, officials said.
