MYANMAR nationals from abroad are being welcomed back through various land borders, officials said.

On 23 September, a total of 19 returnees: 13 males and six females came back home from Namphahaw Bridge, near the Myanmar-China border checkpoint, Chinshwehaw, northern Shan State. Similarly, three females also returned to Myanmar via Yanlone Kyai Bridge and 152 male and 139 female returnees came back home from the Myanmar-Thailand Border Friendship Bridge, Myawady, Kayin State, respectively.

Healthcare officials from relevant public hospitals and members of the Tatmadaw Medical Corps conducted COVID-19 tests and provided quarantine entry documents for the returnees.

Next, officials explained instructions of the Ministry of Health to the returnees and departmental officials provided necessary assistance.

Then, the returnees were transported to their respective places by passenger vehicles provided by the township administration bodies. The COVID-19 positive patients are being kept in separate areas and the necessary medical and administrative matters are being coordinated, officials said.
