MYANMAR’S Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment for COVID-19 announced an extension of the closure of schools for two more weeks to control the spreading of COVID-19.
The closure of basic education schools including private schools and Buddhist monastic schools was further extended until 24 September as part of the government effort to control the disease. The committee released the statement on 10 September.
Similarly, the public holidays have been also extended from 1 to 10 September to control the COVID-19 pandemic but there isn’t any further notice about the extension of public holidays.
In the past, the committee stated closing of schools from 1to 10 September.
As of 11 September, Myanmar has reported 427,516 COVID-19 cases, including 16,353 deaths and 375,813 recoveries.The COVID-19 infection was first detected in Myanmar on 23 March last year.
