THE Department of Public Health of the Ministry of Health and Sports, under the guidance of the State Administration Council, distributed two Covid-19 vaccines named Sinopharm and Sinovac yesterday via ground transport from the government medical warehouse on Min Dhamma Road, Mayangone Township, Yangon Region.

The vaccines were arrived from the People’s Republic of China and are being distributed under the Central Vaccine Expansion Project title.

The distribution includes 44,000 doses to Yangon Region, 44,000 doses to Mandalay Region, 10,000 vaccines for Nay Pyi Taw council area, 12,000 vaccines to Bago Region, 13601 vaccines to Taunggyi, Shan State. All the vaccines were carried by Cold Chain Delivery Logistics vehicles.

The Covid-19 vaccine will be distributed to the public as soon as possible as per the target population groups.

The vaccines are being distributed in a timely manner according to the specified cold route standards, officials said.

The vaccines will also be distributed to remote areas by air with the help of Myanma Airlines and the military (Air Force), officials added.
