FAMILIES from the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) collectively donated a total of K2.218 billion

to the Ministry of Health and Sports for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities.

The cash assistance donation ceremony was held yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw and attended by Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Thet Khaing Win, Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein and Tatmadaw officials.

At the ceremony, Lt-Gen explained the donation and handed over the cash assistance to the Union Minister. Afterwards, the Union Minister expressed words of thanks.

Tatmadaw has been participating in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities together with medical workers and charitable organizations since the first wave of COVID-19 in the country. Families from the Tatmadaw Army, Navy, and Air contributed a total of K4.704 billion during the second wave, which was used to buy anti-COVID-19 drugs and equipment for 1,168 public hospitals and 1,070 rural medical departments.
