STATE Administration Council Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the coordination meeting to beef up cooperation with the international community, including ASEAN and friendly countries in the prevention, control and treatment of the COVID-19, at the hall of Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
In his speech, the Senior General said the ASEAN set up a fund for COVID-19 with the participation of Myanmar. It is necessary to rapidly undertake cooperation in disease prevention, control and treatment and assistance. Decisions must be adopted without delay in collaboration with the international community and the ASEAN community.
All must make an effort to improve COVID-19 vaccination, and connections must be made for the soonest arrivals of donated vaccines.
Relevant ministries and officials need to supervise the production of the vaccine and the incoming of necessary medicinal aids as quickly as possible.
The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council and meeting participants discussed arrivals of the vaccines, distribution of the vaccines to the entire nation, production of the vaccines in cooperation with Russia, offer given to other countries to produce the vaccines and taking samples, the collaboration of the international community, import of vaccines by the private sector and its vaccination process.
In his concluding remarks, the Senior General said ASEAN countries themselves face difficulties. Officials need to seek the allotted funds from the ASEAN Fund and deserved rights. As warded patients must be nutritious, nearby military units must donate eggs, bananas and other supplementary foods to hospitals and clinics. It is crucial for providing necessary care to the patients without selfishness but serving the interests of the State and the people. Whenever faces challenges, efforts must be made for ensuring better health of the State and the people. And, the connection must be made with the international community in the fastest manner.
