THE Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation organized a coordination meeting on the short-term project for significant development in farming sectors with modern techniques yesterday.
During the meeting, Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo discussed food and nutrition security, job opportunities based on agriculture and livestock breeding, relief plans for businesses badly hit by COVID-19, the use of modern techniques in farming and tech-nical assistance for the farmers.
Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi briefed those present on the budget management system in line with the existing law. The Directors-General and Rectors discussed the plans for developing farming sectors, arrangements to set exam for the final year students of the agricultural university, and work schedules to extend livestock breeding diploma courses.
Then, the Union Minister stressed the need to emphasize the Union-level work plans and arrangements of officials of the relevant regions in implementing the co-operative and rural devel-opment programmes.
He also instructed them to understand the policies, missions, visions, and directives of the ministry and assign duties systematically to cooperate with the relevant region administration councils.
