UNION Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko visited Kalaywa Tawya Naga Hlainggu Pariyatti Monastery in Mayangon Township and the National Library (Yangon) yes-terday. During the Pariyatti Mon-astery visit, the Union Minister donated K5 million to Kalaywa Tawya Padarna Nayaka Sayad-aw Bhaddanta Wilathagga. After paying homage to the Sayadaw, the Union Minister said he would make Theravada Buddhism’s sustainability ef-forts, adding exceptional sup-port for monastic schools. The ceremony of religious titles con-ferment will be held on 27 March. Afterwards, in the after-noon, the Union Minister arrived at the National Library (Yangon) and inspected the Multimedia Room, Digital Library Room, Children Story Telling Room, Children Library Room, Special Reading Room, Data Centre, Exhibition Hall and the man agement of bookshelf and conference room. The Union Minister in-structed to make an effort to ac-celerate the provision of library services in the post-COVID-19 period, to promote library ac-tivities and to work with inter-national libraries to develop the library industry. He also met with the officers from the Department of His-torical Research and National Library. He instructed them to strictly follow the Civil Service law, code of conducts, orders and directives and provide pub-lic services willingly. At the National Library (Yangon), each IG Publishing E-books Database is available for download on the library por-tal or at the National Library and books on Asian countries, e-resources such as audio and e-books on children’s literature can be found online as well as E-Takatho and academic data-bases for students in Multimedia Room. People can also quickly and easily find catalogue informa-tion of the collected literature in the Digital Library Room on the National Library website. The library has arranged rare press and ancient literature Pay Parabaik Reading Room; books and audio contents for the visually impaired persons and Story Room for children; Audio Video Room to show documen-tary films on Myanmar culture and ethnic traditions, weekly/monthly show programmes.
