THE stake-driving ceremony for a five-storeyed building, Ananda Sukha Dhammacakka Dhamma Beikman, was held yesterday in the compound of the Dhammacakka Paripatti Yeiktha on Kabar Aye Pagoda Road in Yankin Township, Yangon.
The ceremony was attended by members of Sangha, led by Shwe Thu Wun Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Ratthaguru Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikataja Bhaddanta Theikdiya, and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The congregation, led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, received the Five Precepts from Shwe Thu Wun Sayadaw, and listened to the Prittas recited by members of the Sangha.
Afterwards, the Senior General made offertories to the Shwe Thu Wun Sayadaw, and handed over K50 million donated by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air), and cash donations contributed by the family of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services to Upatta Maha Siri Sudhamma Mani Jotitahara U Sein Hla Win from Dhammacakka Paripatti Yeiktha, who, in turn, presented the Senior General a certificate of honor.
C o m m a n d e r- i n - C h i e f (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior officers, and well-wishers also made offertories to members of the Sangha.
The congregation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing listened to the sermon delivered by Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Ginika Bhivamsa, and shared merits they gained.
Members of the Sangha, led by Shwe Thu Wun Sayadaw, and the congregation proceeded to the plot for the stake-driving ceremony. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and officials took their designated place and drove the stake on the auspicious time.
After the stake-driving ceremony, the Senior General offered soon (a day meal) to the members of the Sangha, according to information released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
