THE 69th anniversary of Kayah State Day was celebrated in accordance with the health guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports yesterday morning in Loikaw.
The nine chairpersons of the ceremony and attendees saluted the Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and paid tribute to the fallen martyrs. Minister for Development and Social Affairs for the Kayah State government Dr Aung Kyaw Htay read out the message sent from President U Win Myint on the occasion of the 69th Kayah State Day Ceremony.
Afterwards, Acting Chief Minister of Kayah State U Bosko said Kayah State Day has been celebrated annually throughout the state for 69 years and can’t celebrate this year due to the COVID-19 cases in Kayah State.
He also urged to all ethnic people to love and care for each other by building unity and solidarity to make the state stable, peaceful and comprehensively developed, to preserve the literature and traditional culture of the ethnic nationalities and to enable to live together in peace and security and build a truly democratic federal union.
The ceremony was also attended by the State Hluttaw Speaker, Chief Justice of the State High Court, Deputy Speaker of the State Hluttaw and officials from the Regional Command Military Headquarters (Loikaw), cabinet ministers, Hluttaw representatives, ethnic literature and cultural groups, peace organizations and guests.
