The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement held a coordination meeting on reviewing rehabilitation procedures and effective work plans yesterday.

Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye discussed the rehabilitation processes of ministry being conducted for socio-economic development for all under leave no one behind plan and cooperation works among the public, civil society organization, NGOs and INGOs.

He said the Department of Rehabilitation needs to conduct a survey on the real situation of public while implementing the required law, by-law, strategies and work plans for all sectors.

The Ministry is carrying out the priority sectors set by the government such as accepting the human-trafficking victims, reintegration and rehabilitation programmes, drug rehabilitation centres and resettlement for refugees.

He then discussed the plans conducted together with Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (MSDP), reviews on challenges including the impacts of COVID-19 and work schedules to join CERP (COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan).

He also highlighted the cooperation works among the department concerned in carrying out the public utilities, rehabilitation procedures and plans to develope vulnerable people groups and sustainable development.

Then, the attendees briefed the drafted policies, law and strategies, effective use of budgets, assistance via cooperation with local and foreign organizations, reviews on the amendment of Anti Trafficking in Persons Law (2005) and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law (2018) and mine clearance operations.
