MINISTRY of Commerce held the 6th coordination meeting on the establishment of Myanmar-China Border Economic Cooperation Zone yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw through videoconferencing.
Union Minister for Commerce Dr Than Myint, in his capacity as the chairman of the central committee on implementing the project, said the bilateral coordination meetings were held by working groups comprised with officials from relevant departments.
He urged to coordinate with the relevant departments to get the permission to use the area for the economic zone in accordance with the rules in implementing the processes, including the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Cooperation Zone.
The meeting also discussed the progress of the field study to determine the location and area for the zone.
