Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi joined the virtual meeting on Public Financial Management Debottlenecking Analysis and Financial Management Roadmap (FMR) yesterday. In his opening remarks, the Union Minister appreciated the participation of the officials of Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry, Union Auditor-General Office, World Bank and EU in drafting the Public Financial Management Debottlenecking Analysis and Financial Management Roadmap (FMR).

The Union Minister highlighted the efforts of the government to raise the budget in education sector yearly according to the report and suggestion, sustainable profits for the country by making the investment in the education sector, responsibility, accountability and transparency of relevant organizations and the important role of Public Financial Management Debottlenecking Analysis and Financial Management Roadmap (FMR) in education reforms. He also pointed out the need for effective public budget management among the relevant developments and organizations.

The Union Minister discussed further opportunities for the ministry to cooperate with the relevant ministries, World Bank and EU.

World Bank’s Country Director for Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos Ms Mariam J Sherman and Deputy Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Myanmar Mrs Kristina Bunde respectively made a greeting speech.

The meeting was also attended by the Hluttaw Representatives, Joint Public Accounts Committee members, other officials of relevant ministries, Union Auditor-General Office, World Bank, EU and other partner organizations.
