The Ministry of Education held the second day of National Education Strategic Plan(2021-2030) drafting online seminar yesterday.
Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi made discussions on the betterment of successful sectors in the NESP (2016-2021) and reviewing the challenges in this plan through Annual Performance Review and the Mid-term Review Report produced by a third-party organization under the My-EQIP supported by the Australian government. The NESP (2021-2030) was adopted on the basis of findings and recommendations of the Mid-term Review Report to develop quality education in the country.
The Union Minister also explained the classification of 7 education levels under the National Qualification Framework from primary classes to the doctoral degree. He also discussed the need for high-tech learning for ensuring the ‘learning continuity’ and ‘no learning loss’ through digital learning amid COVID-19 pandemic. The Union Minister also recommended capacity-building of teachers, development of technology and basic infrastructure, the implementation of ‘Blended Learning’ which is a combination of ‘High-tech learning’ and ‘High-touch learning’.
He also highlighted the importance of academic performance, and right perspective as both IQ and EQ are crucial for the quality education in accordance with the 21st Century Skills and Competencies. Permanent Secretary Dr Zaw Myint explained the progress in drafting NESP (2021-2030), Director-General Dr Thein Win discussed the Higher Education, Research and Innovation in Chapter 7 of the national strategic plan.
