MYANMAR Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association (MEEA) will organize the third ethnic-cultural products exhibition online at the end of February, instead of the annual event of Myanmar Ethnic Culture and Tourism Promotion Festival due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The 7-day online exhibition will be coordinated with the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and the Ministry of Information, while international embassies will be invited to join the fair.
“Product exhibition and regional foods of the 14 ethnic groups of Myanmar will be available online. The opening and closing ceremonies of the fair will be aired by the MRTV,” said Min Banyar, Secretary-General for the MEEA.
The association is also planning to hold “The Ethnic Business Plan Competition” on how to develop the economy between Kayin State and Thailand.
There were about 70 contestants of the competition between 15 to 31 October, and the prizes are being selected after the business briefings of the latest contestants on 5 November.
The first prize in the Online Business Plan 2020 competition is K2.5 million. The second prize is K1.5 million and the third prize K1 million. The fourth prize is K700,000 and K500,000 kyats for the fifth prize respectively.
