The ASEAN Regional Mine Action Centre Steering Committee held its 14th meeting through videoconferencing yesterday morning in its headquarters in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia U Thit Lin Ohn and Director for the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Nyan Myint Aung and Lt Col Htin Aung Kyaw from the Office of the Directorate of Military Engineers, in their capacities as the members of the committee, attended the meeting from Nay Pyi Taw online. The meeting was also attended by the ambassadors from the ASEAN countries, Executive Director for the ARMAC Mr Prum Suonpraseth, representatives of the committee and officials.
At the meeting, the Ambassador of Viet Nam handed over the rotating chairmanship of ARMAC to the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Cambodia.
The meeting also agreed to hold the ARMAC Steering Committee meeting every four months instead every three months.
