A delegation of Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission led by member Daw Myat Myat Soe joined the 16th Principals Meeting of ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC) hosted by the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam (Viet Nam-GIV) in the form of videoconference yesterday.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of 10 ASEAN-PAC member countries.

Myanmar became a member of the South East Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) on 2013 and cooperated with the member countries to combat corruption. The ASEAN Secretary-General Office approved to recognize the SEA-PAC as an Entity of ASEAN in 2017 and officially changed the SEA-PAC into ASEAN-PAC.

With the theme “Better Governance, Less Corruption”, the delegations discussed and agreed on records of 15th ASEAN-PAC, amendments to the ASEAN-PAC Action Plan for 2020-2022, Terms of Reference and logo in line with the Group’s new name while the National Anti-Corruption Commission of Thailand presented their one-year performance on anti-corruption and transferred the chairmanship to the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Brunei for 2021.
