MINISTRY of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement held a coordination meeting at his headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting discussed the effective implementation of sectors related to the ministry in the parts of the Union Accord.
At the meeting, Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye said the peace process is being carried out with the holding of four meetings of Union Peace Conference-the 21st Century Panglong. He continued parts of the Union Accord were signed in the recent conferences, with 37 points of agreement in the 2nd conference, 14 points of agreement in the 3rd conference and 20 points of agreement in the 4th conference, totally 71 points of agreements were reached and all staff members, including the ethnic nationalities in border areas, need to know the relevant sectors to their ministry extensively.
The Union Minister added some fundamental facts included in the political and social sectors related to the ministry are involved in the current activities, while additional efforts are still needed to ensure equal rights for all, including the ethnic nationalities. He said it is required for implementing the next steps effectively in order to support the ethnic affairs and internal peace, the emergence of a constitution that will lead to a genuine Democratic Federal Union and the sustainable security development processes.
He continued it is necessary to adhere to the COVID-19 rules in every implementation without delay, although the processes to be implemented are long-term and facing the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister, the Permanent Secretary, the Directors-General and the Deputy Directors-General discussed the matters in detail to be coordinated with the relevant ministries, departments and ethnic people in accordance with the relevant sectors included in the parts of the Union Accord.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
