In order to facilitate smoother investment processes and better meet the needs of investors, Myanmar is accepting foreign investments not only in US dollars (USD) but also in Chinese yuan (CNY), according to the Myanmar Investment Commission.
According to the MIC’s news bulletin 1/2026 issued on 16 March, proposals for permits and endorsements of the businesses submitted to the Commission can be made using either US dollars or Chinese yuan for foreign capital.
Investors bringing foreign capital in US dollars and Chinese yuan can conduct transfer payments for investments through authorized dealer banks.
