The Kyaukhtu Town’s Department of Agriculture supervised harvest of paddy, grown with subsidy under state-funded CERP programme, at model farmlands in Tay and Leasaw villages in Kyaukhtu, Gangaw District, Magway Region, yesterday morning.
Sinthukha paddy strain was harvested at a 10-acre model farmland in Leasaw Village and at a one-acre model farmland in Tay Village. Both of the farmlands are owned by Daw Win Mar. The officials who supervise the harvest are U Kyaw Min Thant, Assistant Director of Gangaw District’s Department of Agriculture; U Kyaw Myint, Head of Kyaukhtu Town’s Department of Agriculture; and U Nyo Win, official of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics.
According to the harvest records of Sinthukha paddy grown under the CERP Programme on the model farmlands in Kyaukhtu area, yields range from 110 to 125 Tin (1 Tin = 40.9148 L) per acre.
