Officials distributed free masks and face shields to people at the Myoma Municipal Market in Buthidaung Town in Maungtaw District, Rakhine State, yesterday morning as a COVID-19 response effort.

Buthidaung Township COVID-19 Committee Chairperson and Township Administrator U Shwe Hla Aung and committee members, Township Public Health Department official Dr Saw Min Thein and other relevant officials distributed free masks, face shields, hand sanitizer and COVID-19 information leaflets to the sellers and buyers outside U Oattama Hall in the town.

The group of officials gave the people 2000 masks, 600 face shields, and sanitizer and 1,500 informational leaflets free of charge.

In Buthidaung, a total of 158 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of them, 142 people have recovered, one has died and 15 are hospitalized.
