Everybody, Mingalaba!
I am Daw Kai En Ciin. I am currently a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Zomi National Party. At present, I would like to present the policies, stances, and work procedures of the Zomi National Party. Esteemed Zomi people, in the upcoming general election, our Zomi National Party will also be competing for seats in the respective Hluttaws. Therefore, we first wish to request your collective support and encouragement to the extent possible. We also want to inform and remind the people to prepare promptly so that their decisions in the upcoming general election are well-considered and so that the Zomi ethnic group is not left behind or disadvantaged. The Zomi National Party firmly believes that political issues can only be resolved through political means and within the framework of existing laws.
Furthermore, the political stance of the Zomi National Party are aimed at ensuring that all ethnic groups living in Myanmar, including the Zomi people, enjoy political equality. The party is committed to working with relevant groups to establish a Union based on a fully meaningful democracy and a federal system. Therefore, we will present the policies, stance, and work procedures of the Zomi National Party as follows: –
Fundamental principles
(1) to protect and uplift the national interests of the Zomi ethnic people
(2) to join hands with other national brethren to comprehensively flourish democracy and federalism
(3) to preserve and enhance the financial property, religion, language, literature, culture and customs of the Zomi ethnic people
(4) to ensure perpetuity of sovereignty of the State, build a peaceful and prosperous society and endure independence
(5) to help the Zomi ethnic people present their aspirations in the political changes of Myanmar and the reconstruction of the country
I would like to continue the presentation on the primary vision of the Zomi National Party.
Vision
(1) We will strive to ensure solidarity among all Zomi ethnic people.
(2) We will work to ensure that fundamental human rights and democratic freedoms are fully realized, so that the rights of minorities and the rights of citizens are protected without being violated or lost in any way.
(3) We will make an effort to promote improvement of the economic, social, education and health sectors of the land of Myanmar.
(4) We will strive to ensure equitable development of all regions where Zomi ethnic people have been residing since the time of their forefathers and other related areas.
(5) We will implement the independent market economic system thoroughly.
(6) We will work to enable the Zomi ethnic people to enjoy deserved benefits from natural resources which can be extracted in the Zomi area.
(7) We will expand more border trade routes in the Zomi area and ensure equal sharing of revenue or tax collected from these routes with people from the Union, state and local areas.
Moreover, I would like to inform the people about the future programmes of our Zomi National Party.
Future programmes
(1) to support and protect the democratic rights of the entire people residing in the Union
(2) to safeguard the sovereignty of the Union while firmly building the unity, harmony, and equal rights of all ethnic groups
(3) to contribute to international peace through internal peace while exercising independent and transparent political policy.
(4) to create the learning opportunities for all citizens and minorities and provide them to freely pursue different technologies and professions for the livelihoods they wish.
In conclusion, I would like to discuss one more factor. All Zomi people certainly have to know that other relevant ethnic groups will support and elect the parties representing their ethnic groups. So, I would like to deeply urge that Zomi people need to support and cast votes for the Zomi National Party, which will represent Zomi ethnic people and protect the interests of its ethnic group.
May all people and citizens of Myanmar enjoy peace of mind, good health, and well-being. Thank you all.
