THE Mandalay Myoma Amateur Musical Association will hold a singing competition featuring Myoma songs as a commemorative event for its 100th anniversary, according to the band’s meeting on 11 November.

We also plan to award seven consolation prizes. At the festival, we will also have musicians from Yangon to perform alongside the Myoma members,” said Dr Hla Khaing, Chairman of the association.
The band, established in Mandalay Region, has previously held its 50th and 75th anniversary celebrations and plans to hold its 100th anniversary event at the end of 2025.
“To commemorate the Mandalay Amateur Myoma Musical Association’s 100th anniversary, we are making arrangements to collaborate with renowned artists and Myoma’s permanent singers to release and distribute free memorable songs, and to publish a commemorative magazine in mid-November,” he stated.
