A delegation led by the Governor of Novosibirsk of the Russian Federation arrived in Mandalay yesterday morning, and the Mandalay Mayor, students and officials welcomed them at Mandalay International Airport.

After arrival, the Novosibirsk Governor and delegation met the Mandalay Region Government and visited key cultural heritage sites in Mandalay, including the Myanansankyaw Golden Palace, Kuthodaw Pagoda and Shwenandaw Monastery. Mandalay Region Minister for Social Affairs U Aung Kyaw Moe and officials briefed them on the historical significance and cultural heritage of the sites.

Following the visit in Mandalay, the delegation proceeded to NyaungU by Tatmadaw aircraft, where Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan and officials welcomed them at the airport.

The delegation then observed the Bagan Archaeological Museum and received a briefing from the Director of the Bagan Branch under the Department of Archaeology and National Museum regarding the management of Bagan World Heritage cultural properties.
They continued to visit notable pagodas in ancient Bagan, including Shwezigon Pagoda and Ananda Temple, and observed the artistic works.

The delegation also enjoyed the sunset beauty of Bagan from Nanmyint Tower and then visited U Ba Nyein lacquerware industry and lacquerware shops in new Bagan to observe traditional Myanmar lacquer craftsmanship.
