Union Election Commission (UEC) Chairman U Hla Thein visited the polling stations in Zabuthiri, Pyinmana and Ottarathiri townships in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on the Election Day yesterday.

The UEC Chairman inspected the voting processes at Polling Station No 1 and No 2 at BEHS No 5 in Zeyathiekdhi Ward in Zabuthiri Township, Polling Station No 2 in Ywar Kauk Ward, Pyinmana Township, and Poling Station No 1 of BEPS (Chin Village) in Ottarathiri Ward in Ottarathiri Township.

He observed whether the voters abide by COVID-19 guidelines of wearing masks, getting temperature checked, washing hands and queuing with social distancing, and whether they get their little fingers inked at the polling stations.

He checked the polling station staff’s issuing voters’ ID cards with voter lists and issuing ballot papers, and the voting processes for different Hluttaws, and also inspected the advance ballot boxes and advance voter lists.

At the polling stations, he cordially greeted election observers and the public who are waiting for casting their votes at the polling stations.
