The Myanmar Police Force arrested 27 online gamblers — 17 men and 10 women — together with 49 mobile phones, two laptops, two tablets and eight vehicles in Yangon and Mandalay in October.

On 14 October, the police arrested 14 offenders together with 23 mobile phones and three vehicles at Secret Villa Private Resort in Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region, and another three offenders with five mobile phones and three vehicles in Yankin Township on 15 October.

On 16 October, the authorities arrested three offenders together with seven mobile phones, one laptop and one vehicle in PyinOoLwin, whereas two offenders with five mobile phones, one laptop and one vehicle in Mahaaungmyay township of Mandalay Region. On 20 October, five offenders were arrested with nine mobile phones and two tablets in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region.

According to the confession, the offenders had to apply to be agents for the Ibet 789 Online website, 555 Mix website, Moung 556 website, Batman 688 Slot Website, Shan 234 website and 2D/3D website. They had to advertise the gambling posters on Facebook groups and Telegram groups, where they showed Viber numbers to lure the users. When the users contacted them on Viber, the agents opened accounts to gamble on websites. The more users the agents find, the more potential they will gain to be senior agents. While serving as senior agents, they can be super senior agents if they can find commissioned agents and users.

The offenders used KBZ Special Account, KBZ Bank Account, AYA Bank Account, YOMA Bank Account, CB Bank Account, UAB Bank Account, A Bank Account, AYA Pay Account, Kpay Account and Wavepay Account for money transfer and withdrawal.
