A ceremony to present certificates of honour in conjunction with the dinner to mark the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions took place at the Icy Mount Hall of Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening, attended by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Speaking on the occasion, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar said that currently, officials from relevant sectors are striving for the development of the State and prosperity of the people based on their own strength under the leadership of the government. Especially, they are building a united and developed State while conserving the fine traditions of Myanmar and upgrading the natural heritages.

He continued that the natural culture is the lifeblood of a country or a people. Hence, it is necessary to enhance the physical and mental capability of entire people, including the new generation youths, to preserve the national culture through the power of fine arts.

He noted that Myanmar’s traditional arts and cultural crafts have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation by successive artistes and maestros, thereby remaining strong and enduring to this day.

It was stated that throughout Myanmar’s long history spanning thousands of years, successive generations of great artists have continuously nurtured, preserved, and passed down their artistic heritage. Thanks to their invaluable contributions, the people of today can stand as rightful inheritors and custodians of the rich and priceless treasury of Myanmar’s cultural arts.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar presented certificates of honour to Daw Thin Thin Myat for the Singing Panel of Judges, U Aung Tin Win for the Dancing Panel of Judges, U Min Htet Tha for the Song Composing Panel of Judges, U Saw Win for the Music Panel of Judges, an administrator on behalf of the teams of regions and states and an MC on behalf of masters of ceremonies.

Singing maestro U Tin Oo Lay, on behalf of all members of the panel of judges, spoke words of thanks.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar had dinner together with attendees and contestants.

As a special programme, Maung Saw Aung Hein Htwe (aka) Eh Eh of Mon State who stood first in the basic education level (aged 15-20) dancing contest and Nang Kaday San Oo of Yangon Region who secured the first prize in the basic education level (aged 10-15) dancing contest together with retired staff officer 74-year-old Sayagyi Pantaya U Myint Thein of Fine Arts Department and retired honorary professor 76-year-old Dr Nu Nu Khin of National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) performed the duet dance.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar presented honoraria to retired staff officer Sayagyi Pantaya U Myint Thein and retired professor Dr Nu Nu Khin, respectively and cordially greeted them.

After the dinner, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar cordially greeted the attendees.

Also, present at the dinner were Commission Vice-Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Commission member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Commission member and Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe, Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Yin Win Oo, commission members, Union ministers, Union-level dignitaries, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers and officials.
