A total of 490.53 tonnes of HRB 500 steel reinforcing bars (rebars), required for rehabilitation and reconstruction projects in Mandalay, have been transported for the second time from Yangon to Mandalay by a special freight train.

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and relevant officials inspected the consignment upon its arrival. The steel bars will be distributed for use in various rehabilitation and reconstruction works across the Mandalay Region.

Including this latest shipment, 977.414 tonnes of HRB 500 steel bars have now been delivered — 486.886 tonnes in the first consignment and 490.53 tonnes in the second.

Similar arrangements are being made to transport HRB 500 steel bars needed for rehabilitation and reconstruction projects in the Sagaing Region.
