Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also Chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, presided over a meeting on the information and development of a resilient and strong social community at MRTV in Tatkon of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the activities to implement the information, resilient and strong social community are being carried out in two villages of Tatkon township as pilot projects. The procedures of the committee are also released via media for the public, and the state-owned media also create pleasant moments for the public in addition to informing, entertaining and educating. The state-owned media serves to ensure a resilient and strong social community, and also as a bridge between the people and the government.

The Union minister handed over 177 sets of MRTV DTH receivers and 110 MRTV DVB-T2 set-top boxes for six Myoma wards and 49 village-tracts in Tatkon Township.

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo highlighted the efforts of the government in manufacturing, education and the prosperous atmosphere of the country and the intention of the information, resilient and strong social community project to ensure the physical development and sustainable socio-economic status in rural areas.

He presented 72 sets of MRTV DTH receivers for one Tatkon township education officer’s office, township management and administration committee, 30 Basic Education High Schools and 34 Basic Education Middle Schools in Tatkon Township.

The Union minister and party drew lots and gave 15 sets of MRTV DTH receivers and 30 MRTV DVB-T2 Set Top Boxes to the winners.
