A workshop on awareness and roadmap development for exporting Myanmar’s tropical agricultural products to Belarus was held yesterday afternoon at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Industry Office 30. Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, officials, departmental heads from regional and state Supervisory and Inspection Departments, MSME entrepreneurs, and representatives from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) attended the event in person and virtually.

The Union minister explained that the workshop would be conducted in two parts. The first part focused on awareness of export opportunities to Belarus, market penetration strategies, and the sharing of knowledge and experiences by relevant ministries and entrepreneurs. The second part involved group discussions, where participants selected three to five potential tropical products for export to Belarus and drafted a practical roadmap with the cooperation of relevant ministries and MSME entrepreneurs.

The completed roadmap will be submitted to the Central Committee for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium, and Enterprises, after which coordination with relevant ministries will be carried out to implement exports to Belarus. The Union Minister urged MSME entrepreneurs, producers, and representatives from ministries and organizations to contribute actively to the success of Myanmar’s agricultural exports to the Belarusian market.
Afterwards, the director-general of the Supervisory and Inspection Department presented an overview of the workshop. Officials from the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, UMFCCI, and the Agriculture Department discussed cooperation opportunities, trade information, and requirements for exporting Myanmar’s tropical agricultural products to Belarus.

Group discussions followed to identify roadmaps and draft work plans for potential exports. The results were reviewed, and the Union Minister concluded the workshop with closing remarks.
