Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.

On 14 August, the combined teams impounded industrial materials valued at K134.036 million without official documents from five containers at the Thilawa Port, the materials for gold mining valued at K210.66 million at the Yadanabon bridge combined checkpoint, and two trucks (approximately K45 million) carrying illegal teaks worth K2.208 million in the Aungmingala highway bus terminal in Mingaladon Township. The action was conducted under Customs procedures and the Forest Law.

Additionally, on 14 and 15 August, the joint on-duty teams seized illegal teaks and timbers worth K1.987 million in Toungoo district, foodstuffs, consumer goods and industrial materials worth K21.854 million without official documents from two buses (approximately K140 million) at the Nyaungkhashay x-ray station, a Nissan Diesel truck (estimated value of K35 million) carrying consumer goods valued at K725.302 million without official documents near Thayagon village in Hpa-an Township and five unregistered vehicles and 35 unregistered motorbikes. The action was conducted under Customs procedures and the related laws.

The Steering Committee reported 17 arrests on 14 and 15 August, seizing illegal goods worth approximately K1.316 billion.
