The Ambassadors and Heads of Mission to Myanmar signed the Book of Condolence opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sagawah Street, Yangon, to honour the memory of Pro Tem President U Myint Swe, who passed away on 7 August 2025.

On 9 August 2025, Mr Jong Ho Bom, Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; Mr Iskander Azizov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation; Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachchige Prabashini Ponnamperuma, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka; Mr Muhammad Arif Hidayatullah, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia; Mr Anwar Zeb, Charge d’ Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Dr Rashid Abdulla AL-Kuwari, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the State of Qatar; Mr Aizul Aziz, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam; and Mr Abdullah A Al-Hoshan, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, signed the Book of Condolence. Senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly received the Ambassadors and Heads of Mission upon their arrival.

The Ambassadors and Heads of Mission conveyed their profound condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family of the Pro Tem President as well as to the Government and people of Myanmar.
