AS an opportunity to enhance bilateral relations, the 2025 Korean Cultural Festival was held in Yangon and attracted many participants, said the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Myanmar.
It was organized by the Korean Embassy and took place for two days on 19 and 20 July at Lotte Hotel in Yangon. It was the first time that the festival resumed after 2019, and more than 1,000 participants joined the first day of, Korean films festival, in which “A hen into the wild”, “Canola” and “The face reader” were shown.
Ambassador Mr Bae Byeongsoo said in the opening ceremony that he expected the Korean Cultural Festival to be a place for cultural exchange between Myanmar and Korea, and it is an opportunity to make the bilateral relationship stronger.
K-pop Festival Myanmar was also held on 20 July, and 13 groups (seven dance groups and six singers) were selected for the 2025 K-pop World Festival, which is going to be held in October, jointly organized by Changwon and KBS. As special guests, the four-member Ondo K-pop group entertained at the festival.
Outside the festival area, along with booths giving an array of Korean cultural experiences, the Korean traditional tavern Jumak, cosplay show, Taekwondo show, Myanmar art gallery and application counter for SNS supporters for the embassy were displayed.
It was not only a simple concert, but it also concluded as a cultural festival that everyone can enjoy.
