UNION Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe, in his capacity as the Secretary (2) of the committee, accepted the cash assistance to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 virtually yesterday.

Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in his capacity as the Chairperson of the Myanmar Investment Commission U Thaung Tun explained the reason for the donation. He also congratulated to all volunteers and medical staff from the Ministry of Health and Sports who has been working together for the fight against COVID-19.

The donations were K30 million from the MPRL E&P Group of Companies, $25,000 from Ooredoo Myanmar Limited, K13 million from Wilmar Holding Ltd, K23 million from MYANWEN and well-wishers, K10 million from U Tun Naing Oo from Marga Landmark, K5 million from International Beverages Trading Co., Ltd, K5 million from Chairman of Pathein Industrial City U Zaw Win Shein, K5 million from Chairman of Mother Group Companies U Aung Myat and K5 million from Chairman of Super Seven Star.

The COVID-19 national committee will hand over the cash assistance to the Ministry of Health and Sports to be used in hospitals and COVID-19 medical centres, in buying medical equipment and necessary medicines and the installation of Oxygen pipelines and upgrading intensive care units.
