THE Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held a coordination meeting on meat production sector development and national nutrition plan via videoconference yesterday morning.

At the meeting with heads and officials of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, regions and states administration departments, Union Minister Dr Aung Thu discussed food security to meet the international market standards without affecting the sources.

The Deputy Minister, the Permanent Secretary and the attendees to the meeting presented the action plans for meat production sector development and national nutrition plan.

The MoALI made efforts for the development of the breeding sector, local food security, official exports of animals and animal products without affecting the local resources and creating job opportunities with breeding industry in line with the Agricultural Development Strategy.

The country has seen the 2.9 per cent growth in this sector in 2019-2020 fiscal year.
