Myanmar embassy in Kula Lumpur and two Malaysian companies arranged the repatriation of 131 migrant workers by a relief flight of Malaysia Airlines and they landed at the Yangon International Airport yesterday afternoon.
The 28th relief flight of Myanmar Airways International flew 97 nationals back home from South Korea with the help of Myanmar embassy in Seoul in the same evening. The group of returnees included 5 persons from Brazil, 5 from Hong Kong, 3 from Germany, 2 from South Africa, 76 from South Korea, 4 from Britain, and 2 from the United States.
Moreover, a charter flight organized by Myanmar embassy in Seoul and Myanmar Seafarers Federation arrived in Yangon in the same afternoon, in bringing back 145 Myanmar seamen whose employment contracts have expired with their shipping companies. The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government arranged 7-day quarantine at specific places or designated hotels, followed by the 7-day home quarantine.
In accordance with the instructions of National-Level Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is cooperating with the relevant ministries and its missions in foreign countries.
