UNDER the arrangement of the Ministry of Commerce, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and the Myanmar Livestock Federation, market trucks have been selling rice, cooking oil, salt, pulses, fish paste and various goods directly at earthquake-affected staff housings in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing and Mandalay since 30 March.

Yesterday marked the 35th day of continuous service, with eight trucks operating across the areas.

Since 30 March 2025, trucks have been visiting several locations including the Yezin University of Agriculture, Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station, the staff housing of Locomotive Shed, Nursing Training School, Ottarathiri Hospital Staff Housing, Padauk Housing, Gangaw Housing, residential wards, an educational staff housing, the staff housing of Myanma Alinn and Kyemon daily newspapers, security staff in Uppatasanti Pagoda’s precinct, Tatkon and Lewe township General Administration Departments, Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department, Union Civil Service Board, office of USDP, Ministryof Defence, and Union Auditor General’s office.

Sales of goods include export quality sacks of rice, packs of chickpeas, fish paste, along with various types of dried fish, various kinds of vegetables, bottles of cooking oil and packets of instant noodles. Fish, chicken and eggs were also made available.

In a similar effort, four trucks also operated in Sagaing. Up to now, they have sold 316 bags of Shwe Wah Tun rice, 4,963 visses of cooking oil and many others dried foodstuffs at affordable prices.

Meanwhile, four trucks are running daily in Mandalay, selling 644 bags of Manawthukha rice, 62,800 visses of cooking oil, varieties of groceries, eggs, and packets of instant noodles. Daily sales will continue in the coming days.
