A relief flight by Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) bringing back 145 Myanmar seamen from Incheon International Airport (the Republic of Korea) landed at the Yangon International Airport at 9:30 pm yesterday.
The seamen needed crew-change after their contracts with various companies had expired.
The 145 Myanmar seamen — 122 from the Republic of Korea, 14 from Brazil, 1 each from UAE, Panama and Russia, and 3 each from Viet Nam and Australia — took the MNA relief flight.
As they arrived in the Yangon International Airport, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government arranged proper medical check-ups, and 7-day hotel quarantine plus 7-day home quarantine for them.
To bring back Myanmar seamen stranded in foreign nations by relief flights in accordance with the instructions from National-Level Central Committee on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperated with the relevant ministries and Myanmar embassies from respective nations.
