ADVANCE VOTING of Myanmar citizens for 2020 General Election started in Brazil, India, the Philippines and Kunming of the People’s Republic of China yesterday.
Eight eligible voters cast their ballots at the Myanmar Embassy in Brasilia of Brazil, 35 voters cast their votes at the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi of India, 35 voted in Baguio and Los Banos of the Philippines and 48 voted at the Myanmar Consulate-General Office in Kunming of China.
Officials from the Myanmar Embassy in Manila arranged the voters in the Philippines to cast votes in Baguio and Los Banos as the voters faced difficulties to go to Manila due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Moreover, Myanmar citizens continued advance voting in six embassies concerned yesterday, with 671 persons in Bangkok, 12 in Cairo, some 1,700 in Singapore, 204 in Seoul, 10 in Tel Aviv and 284 in Tokyo.
More advance voting stations will be set up at the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia and in Nagoya of Japan on 9 October.
