GOVERNMENT is giving out cash assistance for the insured employees from private-owned industries, factories and workplaces operated by business firms and registered at the Social Security Board in Yangon Region since 5 October.

The Ministry of Health and Sports issued order numbers 107/2020 and 108/2020, and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population released order numbers 196/2020 and 198/2020 to control COVID-19 outbreak.

The insured employees from the workplaces under the stay-at-home programme in these orders could receive 40 per cent of their salary from their contribution to Social Security Fund for June 2020.

After scrutinizing the applications online and through township offices for the social fund, a total of K2,362.733 million cash assistance has been allowed for 33,802 insured employees from 313 workplaces.

The insured workers from industries, factories and workplaces in Mon State, Bago Region, Mandalay Region and Ayeyawady Region that are included in the stay-at-home order will also enjoy cash assistance under this programme.
